Dr. Ennette Morton is a passionate educator, author, community leader, and staunch advocate for equitable access to education. With a profound belief in the transformative power of learning, Dr. Morton is a candidate for the Long Beach Community College Board of Trustees, District 4. Rooted in a childhood shaped by a retired Air Force service member and a mother who dedicated her life to nursing, Dr. Morton's journey underscores the vital importance of education. Her experiences with frequently moving and experiencing diverse cultures worldwide cultivated a deep appreciation for lifelong learning. As a first-generation college graduate holding a Doctorate in Education and MBA from Pepperdine University, alongside an undergraduate degree from Cal Poly Pomona, she embodies the belief that education is the key to opportunity.

Throughout her career as a college administrator and civic leader, Dr. Morton has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to educational excellence. She has forged impactful partnerships with national organizations, non-profits, and educational leaders, fostering collaborative initiatives to enhance student outcomes and faculty success. Her tenure at public and private institutions such as Pepperdine University, UC Berkeley, and California State University, Long Beach, has afforded her a nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities within higher education.

Beyond academia, Dr. Morton's dedication to community engagement is evident through her diverse leadership roles. She has served on the Long Beach City College $30 Million Advisory Group, holds positions as a commissioner and Co-Chair for the Long Beach Commission on Youth and Family, and contributes as a statewide commissioner for the California Cultural Historical Endowment Board. Her involvement in political advocacy spans from local to statewide levels, as an alumnus of Emerge CA to championing initiatives for women's parity in the California legislature as a volunteer recruitment scout with Close the Gap California. With her breadth of experience, visionary leadership, and unwavering dedication to the community, Dr. Ennette Morton will be a fierce advocate for students, faculty, and staff on the Long Beach Community College Board of Trustees.
